Dermarolling, also known as microneedling, is a skincare
procedure that involves using a small, handheld device with a roller covered in
fine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. This process is used to
stimulate collagen production and improve the appearance of the skin.
We have covered all the important Q&As pertaining to using dermaroller in another post that you should read first. And here we want to share some specific recommendations with the products you already have and how to incorporate them into your routine.
Of all the sizes of the needles in dermarollers, we
recommend to use 0.5mm, as it’s the best size that reaches the dermis level
where collagen is produced. It's just small enough and big enough for the best anti-aging results.
For the best results follow these steps:
- Cleanse your skin: Begin by washing your face with a gentle cleanser to remove dirt, oil, and makeup. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel.
2. Apply a layer of hydrating serum: We recommend Blumarine Pacific 4D for deep hydration or La Nouvel Cellular Nutriserum. (Blumarine is my personal favorite because it also offers natural buildable Botox function and helping it absorb deeper with a dermaroller renders a better and faster result).
the dermaroller over your skin: Hold the dermaroller with a light touch
and roll it over your skin in a back-and-forth motion. Be sure to roll
over each area of the skin 2-3 times, but avoid applying too much pressure
to avoid bleeding. This image below shows directions for rolling.
4. Rinse the dermaroller: After using the dermaroller, rinse it thoroughly with alcohol and let it dry. Then place it back into its container to avoid contamination.
5. Apply a moisturizer: After dermarolling, your skin will naturally become slightly red and irritated and it’s a good idea to apply a moisturizer to help soothe and hydrate the skin.My suggestions are to use either Seleniya Nourishing Skin Barrier Concentrate or Qlumiere Cucumber Restorative Cream. Either of these products will work wonders to sooth and calm the skin.
It is important to follow the instructions for use that come with the dermaroller, and remember to disinfect it every time before and after the procedure. If you have not used the dermaroller before, start with 0.2mm size and work your way up as your skin becomes more accustomed to the treatment.
Use dermaroller every 7-14 days to let your skin heal between the procedures.
