What is the difference between Lumiessence and Bioradiance? Are they the same?

We often receive questions about specifics of our products and what might be the difference between the two seemingly the same products. We love those questions and keep them coming because a small difference in ingredients can make a lot of difference in a product performance and result you are looking for.

Here are two very popular products -Lumiessence and Bioradiance. We receive questions about them most often. When you read their description, you will notice that they both are targeting the same issue - skin unevenness, sun damage and brown spots. But deep down they are very different. Let's look closer.

What do they have in common? The overall performance and ingredients, like Kojic acid, Alpha-Arbutin, Resveratrol, Hyaluronic acid, Pineapple, Papaya, Pearl..to name a few. All of the above ingredients work hard to awaken that glowing complexion and reduce the appearance of brown spots and unevenness. But what makes them very different is that Bioradiance carries 12% of AHA, aka Mandelic acid. While Lumiessence does not. Mandelic acid is a natural Alpha Hydroxy Acid (from bitter almonds) that works in the same manner as Glycolic acid, but because its molecular structure is larger, it is much better tolerated by the skin.

Mandelic acid is a powerful, yet gentle, skin exfoliator which helps to dissolve and shed the top layer of dead epidermal cells, to reveal newer, fresher skin. In fact, people with acne, sensitive skin, and even those with rosacea can benefit from using a product containing Mandelic acid because of its slow absorption and gentle performance.

So when do you use it? We suggest to use it at night, while you sleep. Mandelic acid is gentle, but it's still an alpha hydroxy acid, and using it during the day can make your skin more sensitive to the sun. This is where Lumiessence comes in. It doesn't contain AHA and would be perfect for daily use. Don't forget your sunscreen also, as we all know the sun is the cause of the appearance of brown spots that these products were made to address.
